Product Description
My name is Lindsay Frucci and I am a brownieholic. I love thick, fudgy, chewy brownies. I hate fat. In my food or on my hips, fat is something I like to live without. Since most thick, fudgy, chewy brownies are loaded with fat this created quite a problem. Were brownies without guilt a possibility? In January of 1995, I decided to try and find out. Since my family and I had already tried and rejected several commercially available fat free brownies (they either tasted like fruit or had no taste at all), I decided to see if I could come up with my own fat free brownie recipe. During the next few weeks, I made and threw away more pans of brownies than most people make in a lifetime. Fortunately, we were having some remodeling done on our home at the time and the two builders who were doing the work were only too happy to be my "official" taste testers. They took their mission very seriously, carefully evaluating every batch of fat free brownies for taste and texture. By the time the remodeling was done, I had a recipe for fat free brownies that were chewy, very rich and fudgy, and, best of all, FAT FREE I knew that I wanted to turn the recipe into a company, but with a background that included pediatric nursing and being a Mom, I had absolutely no idea how... Enter my local SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) office. There, I was incredibly lucky to be connected with two wonderful gentlemen who had had extensive experience in the food industry. With their expertise and guidance, No Pudge! Foods was begun. FAT FREE Original Fudge Brownie Mix first appeared on the shelves of a few stores in August of 1995.

Here’s a review by someone who is not fat, not on a diet, and who has not ruined his palate with fat free confections:

These are the worst brownies I have ever tasted! My wife bought this mix because it was the only one available at Trader Joe’s when she shopped. She didn’t tell me they were fat free, but as soon as I tried one, I knew. It had all the hallmarks of fat-free baked goods – gummy, flat, and the chocolate tasted like cocoa powder, not like rich fudgy chocolate. I almost had to spit it out, it was that awful.

And do you want to know why fat free foods taste so bad? I’ll let you in on a little secret: the secret ingredient in good-tasting food is… you guessed it – FAT!!!!! Fat and oil molecules transport the lovely taste of foods onto your taste buds. So stop being so afraid of fat! A little bit won’t kill you! Just exercise a little self-control and don’t eat the entire box. One properly made brownie is more satisfying than a whole plate of these vile things.

So if you like real food that tastes good, don’t believe the reviewers that raved about these brownies. These people have a hidden agenda – they are trying to convince themselves that these little nuggets of evil actually taste good and are good for them.

These were brought in for a potluck at work. We weren’t told they were fat free until after we had eaten them all! They are delicious and do not taste fat free at all. I tend to avoid fat free foods because they never taste as good as the “real” thing but these really do taste like brownies! YUMMY My 2 year old even loved them.

If you’re watching your weight or not, these brownies are very tasty. They’re gooey but taste wonderful and so easy to make. Just stir in 1 container of yogurt and mix by hand. If you are a Weight Watcher, they’re just 2 points a square.

These brownies are so easy to make. Just add yogurt, mix and put in oven. They come out very moist, almost gooey. They taste pretty good too. I was pleasantly surprised and like to eat them. I add nuts and flax seed meal to make them even healthier. Enjoy!!!

These are easy to make, tasty, and best of all not fattening-that is if you don’t eat the whole pan at once. This is a good price Amazon is selling them for. All you need is vanilla yogurt or applesauce to make them and the batter is delicious!
