It’s nice to find a relatively wholesome and low fat snack that tastes good, and these do a pretty good job of it. There’s a definite undertone of mint along with a rich chocolate base, and each one is individually wrapped which makes it handy to take just one along in a lunch or snack.
They seem a little dry to me, but I guess that’s an expected characteristic of something low fat. The 40% off coupon that is offered from time to time makes them a pretty good deal — I don’t think I would buy them again without the discount.
Loved this individually wrapped mint brownie. Organic too was great. Not to sweet but plenty of flavor. Would recommend to anyone wanting a bit better for you snack or desert. Warmed up in the micro for less than 10 sec was nice too.
I use these “brownies” as energy snacks on long hikes or bike rides. Each 90 calorie package has only 1.5 grams of fat, which is much less than most other energy foods. They don’t have a real chewy fudge taste like real brownies, but they do have a nice moist texture and real chocolate flavor. That is a big improvement vs. most other ultra-low-fat snacks which taste like cardboard. With the 40% discount coupon, each brownie costs around 30 cents which is a good price for a pre-packaged item with long shelf life. The box I bought in August has an expiration date in November.
I like this 1 ounce size better than the 3 ounce Erin Baker products. The 3 ounce cookies are much bigger and take me a while to eat and tend to crumble apart before I can finish them. The 3 ounce products do taste better (to me), though they also have more fat (7 grams of fat for a 300 calorie cookie).
