I want to make some extra money in the summer, and i thought that selling chocolate brownies would be quite a good way. So i went knocking on peoples doors asking if they wanted to buy any brownies, but they all said no. Are there any good ways to sell my brownies?

One thing is that people usually don’t buy when you go knocking on their doors…crazy people out there nowadays.
If you live in a neighborhood that’s pretty like a community, stake out at the playground or pool and see what time/date most people are there at. Then ask the neighborhood director person if he/she would be cool with you selling brownies. Or whenever your neighborhood has an event ask if you can sell some.
I’m sorry to say that he/she might not want to let you unless you’re doing it for charity or donating the money to SPCA or BARK or something like that.
Besides, baking brownies costs money and this is a slow way. Get a job or baby sit or mow people’s lawns or something. Walking dogs can be fun =)
To be honest now days people are so afraid of contaminated food that they might be afraid to buy it from someone going door to door even if you are clean and have a good product.
Do you have a “farmer’s market” in town? Many people go there on the weekends and sell their products. Where I live the food goes fast there.
Also where you live check with the city health department they might have certain regulations about selling to the public.
If you want to sell to your friends and family it might be the best and easiest way to earn money this summer. They would trust your cooking skills and be happy to help you out this summer.
Also, the way you present the “brownies” is most important in nice packaging….you know those cupcake papers…they are nice to sell food in them, they can be placed in a box and sold individually. If someone wants to buy a dozen have little zipper bags available that you keep flat so the brownies do not crumble or break up. Find a brownie recipe that is NOT CAKE LIKE…but is more CHEWY..it will hold together better and last longer because it’s moist.
Well I better go now or I will write a “brownie book” LOL

door to door, at office complex. be sure to have a child with you , it will be great for marketing.
Your kitchen has to be approved by the Board of Health before you can legally sell food (unless it’s a bake sale for charity of course). It’s kind of late in the summer now but you could always cut grass, babysit etc..
