I’m using brownie mix but my brownies come out more cake, with a fluffy center, than chewy and wet like brownies should be. How do I correct this problem? More or less water? More or less eggs?
How do I make brownies more chewy?

well duh add weed or shrooms
More oil and less cooking time. Also if you put mini marshmallows in brownies it makes then a lot chewier.
since you are using a mix, i would say to double check to instructions on the box, somewhere on there is usually an option for cake like brownies vs fudge like brownies..i think you must add an egg or a little vegetable oil..same amt of water..
good luck
the more eggs the more cake like
but if you want a little extra throw some chocolate chips,or white choco. chips, or chocolate chunks(not a hole bag just a half of a cup or a little more)
and just to make your brownies a little wetter with out adding one or more of the above
add about 3 tablespoons of chocolate syurp
I despise chewy brownies. However, to answer your question use less water.
Try adding a tablespoon of Miracle Whip or mayonnaise and cutting your bake time by a minute.
It has nothing to do with water…and more oil will only make it more fattening and well oily lol. And if you bake it too little that’s raw, not chewy lol.
It is, as someone else said, the eggs. The only other factor could be the brand you are using. I guarantee you if you use a Duncan Hines mix and follow the recipe for the chewy not cakelike brownies it will be perfect! (I’d post the number of eggs but depands on the size box you get).
Try that and you’ll never how another cakey brownie again! And have one for me too please…yum could use one now!
